Case Study – Rocky Vista
OVERVIEW:
In the midst of the growing coronavirus pandemic worldwide, Rocky Vista University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine had sought to preemptively treat their facilities as a preventative measure to keep staff and students surrounded by a healthy environment free of any pathogens. Upon hearing about the power and versatility of SteraMist® ionized Hydrogen Peroxide (iHPTM), the University reached out to their local TOMI Service Network provider, Rocky Mountain Construction Co.
“THE UNIVERSITY WAS) THRILLED AND THE FACILITIES MANAGER COULDN’T BE HAPPIER.”
Charlie Jones, Project Director
Rocky Mountain Construction Co.
SCOPE OF WORK:
AREA TO BE TREATED:
4,500 ft2 Healthcare Facility
PRODUCT USED: Surface Unit
STERAMIST® TECHNICIANS: 4

MEETING THE NEED:
During a Friday evening, Rocky Mountain Construction spent an hour clearing out the area to be disinfected to ensure that the facility was prepared for treatment. The next four hours were spent thoroughly treating the area, which included hallways, nurses stations, and medical laboratories. HVAC systems remained operational for the duration of the SteraMist® application.
THE RESULT:
With only a single gallon of BITTM Solution and a SteraMist® Surface Unit, four on-site technicians were able to disinfect the medical facility within four hours, helping to provide peace of mind to those working within. After the initial satisfactory SteraMist treatment, a second phase was scheduled for over another facility spanning over 140,000 ft2.
